一．知识点精讲

（一）生词

1.caution 　　

n.the quality of being careful, not taking any risks, and try to avoid danger.小心地，谨慎地

eg：①. We must carry out the experiment with caution.

②. We need great caution when handling the animals.　　

2.acknowledge 　　

vt. to admit or accept　　

eg: It is now general acknowledged that he was innocent.　　

be acknowledged as被公认为。。。

①. Lasalle is acknowledged as the world’s greatest living authority on impressionist painting.　　

②The people acknowledged Mandela as their leader.　　

3.resist

①vt.to try to prevent change or prevent yourself being forced to do sth.抗拒，对抗

eg: I was in their power, and knew it was pointless to resist.　　

②. to oppose or fight against反抗

eg: The city resisted the enemy for two weeks.　　

③.vt.to stop yourself doing what you want to忍住，按捺

can’t resist sth./doing sth.忍不住，禁不住做某事

eg: I cannot resist glancing at his diary.　　

It is hard/impossible to resist an invitation like that.　　

4．fobid—forbade ---- forbidden 　　

①.vt. to tell someone that they mustn’t do something不许，禁止

eg: You may not got to the party----. I absolutely fobid it.　　

②.vt.to make it impossible for someone to do sth.阻碍，妨碍，使某人不可能做某事

eg: Lack of space forbids the listing of all those who contributed.　　

5. figure

①.n.someone who is important in a particular way人物，重要人物

eg：He was the outstanding political figure of his time.

②．n. a person in a painting or model画像，塑像

eg: an 18^thcentury Maori figure

③. n. a number数学，数字符号，位数

eg: We should try to keep unemployment figures down.　　

（二）.短语

1. get rid of丢弃，扔掉，摆脱，除去，赶走

eg: It is time that we got rid of all these old toys.　　

I can’t get rid of this cough.　　

2. result in导致某事，造成某事

eg: The reporter reported an accident that resulted in the death of twenty passengers.　　

3.fool around/ about乱弄，瞎弄，游手好闲

eg: He spent the whole afternoon just fooling around.　　

I was meant to be working on Sunday, but I just fooled around all day.　　

4. run into偶然遇到，遭遇

eg: I ran into an old school friend at the supermarket yesterday.　　

We ran into the thick fog just outside 　　Beijing　　.　　

（三）.重难点句型分析

1. How do you feel after hearing a good joke?　　

精讲：feel的用法

①．作连系动词

eg: His skin feels cold and rough.　　

How does it feel to be 40?　　

It feels good/ strange.　　

作为连系动词时，不能用进行时态或者被动语态

②．作实义动词

eg: I felt as if/though I was a million.　　

He didn’t feel like working today.

精讲：in a …way以什么方式

eg: I will tell you in my own time and in my own way.

eg: I’ sure the kids will soon get to like each other.　　

3.the effects of laughter associated with humor.　　

精讲：associate sb./sth. with …把某人/某事与。。联系起来

eg: I’ ve never associated you with this place.　　

I wouldn’t want to be associated with Mickey’s project.
